Il \u00e9tait une fois six aveugles, instruits et curieux. Ils d\u00e9siraient, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, rencontrer un \u00e9l\u00e9phant afin de compl\u00e9ter leur savoir\u2026<\/p>

Le premier s\u2019approcha de l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant et, alors qu\u2019il glissait contre son flanc vaste et robuste, il s\u2019exclama: \u00abDieu me b\u00e9nisse, un \u00e9l\u00e9phant est comme un mur!\u00bb.<\/p>

Le deuxi\u00e8me, t\u00e2tant une d\u00e9fense s\u2019\u00e9cria \u00abRond, lisse et pointu ! Selon moi, cet \u00e9l\u00e9phant ressemble \u00e0 une lance!\u00bb<\/p>

Le troisi\u00e8me se dirigea vers l\u2019animal, prit la trompe dans ses mains et dit: \u00abPour moi, l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant est comme un gros serpent\u00bb.<\/p>

Le quatri\u00e8me tendit une main impatiente, palpa le genou et fut convaincu qu\u2019un \u00e9l\u00e9phant ressemblait \u00e0 un arbre.<\/p>

Le cinqui\u00e8me s\u2019\u00e9tant saisi par hasard de l\u2019oreille, dit aux autres: \u00abM\u00eame pour le plus aveugle des aveugles, cette merveille d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant est semblable \u00e0 un \u00e9ventail!\u00bb<\/p>

Le sixi\u00e8me chercha \u00e0 t\u00e2tons l\u2019animal et, s\u2019emparant de la queue qui balayait l\u2019air, per\u00e7ut quelque chose de familier: \u00abJe vois, dit-il, l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant est comme une corde!\u00bb<\/p>

Apr\u00e8s leurs d\u00e9couvertes, les six aveugles se mirent \u00e0 discuter et \u00e0 d\u00e9battre longuement et passionn\u00e9ment. Leurs opinions divergeaient et chacun insistait pour faire valoir sa conviction. Persuad\u00e9s que leurs perceptions \u00e9taient l\u2019enti\u00e8re r\u00e9alit\u00e9, chacun affirmait son point de vue avec ardeur.
Il semblait qu\u2019ils n\u2019arriveraient jamais \u00e0 s\u2019entendre, lorsqu\u2019un sage qui passait par-l\u00e0, fut surpris de cette v\u00e9h\u00e9mence et s\u2019avan\u00e7a vers eux :<\/p>

\u00ab Qu\u2019est-ce vous agite tant ? \u00bb dit-il.<\/p>

\u00ab Nous ne pouvons pas nous mettre d\u2019accord pour dire \u00e0 quoi ressemble l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant ! \u00bb<\/p>

Et chacun d\u2019eux lui dit ce qu\u2019il pensait \u00e0 ce sujet.<\/p>

Le sage, amus\u00e9, s\u2019exclama : \u00abVous avez tous dit vrai !
Si chacun de vous d\u00e9crit l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant si diff\u00e9remment, c\u2019est parce que chacun a touch\u00e9 une partie de l\u2019animal seulement. Et ces parties sont tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes. L\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant a r\u00e9ellement les traits que vous avez tous d\u00e9crits individuellement selon votre exp\u00e9rience. Et pourtant, aucun d\u2019entre vous ne poss\u00e8de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 totale sur cet animal puisque vous n\u2019en avez saisi qu\u2019une partie.
Chacun de vous d\u00e9tient une part de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cOhhhhhh ! \u201c, S\u2019exclam\u00e8rent les aveugles, heureux que chacune de leur r\u00e9alit\u00e9 soit prise en compte et comprenant maintenant qu\u2019ils parviendraient \u00e0 une plus juste r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant en mettant en commun leurs diff\u00e9rents points de vue.
Ils discut\u00e8rent ensemble, curieux de chaque point de vue, afin de d\u00e9couvrir la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de cet animal, jusqu\u2019alors inconnu.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sens de cette m\u00e9taphore<\/strong><\/p>

Chacun de nous a sa propre carte du monde. Chacun construit sa r\u00e9alit\u00e9 selon ce qu\u2019il per\u00e7oit, en pensant que sa r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est LA r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Nous tendons \u00e0 identifier notre point de vue, partiel et limit\u00e9, \u00e0 une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 globale. Or la mise en commun de diff\u00e9rents points de vue nous permet d\u2019atteindre une plus grande objectivit\u00e9 et sortir d\u2019affirmations binaires et fanatiques. Une r\u00e9flexion collective, men\u00e9e avec respect et consid\u00e9ration de la part de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 que d\u00e9tient chacun, nous permet d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 une vision globale plus riche, plus compl\u00e8te et plus vraie.
